Additional Support for Students with Disabilities
Combining your education and a part-time job can be challenging. The municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn has a special scheme for students with a disability: the study allowance. Read more about this support below!
Want to apply for your study allowance together? That's possible! Let us hear from you via the blue button!
What is study allowance? 🤔
The study allowance is a monthly benefit that you receive! You could see it as a helping hand. With this extra support, we want to make it easier for you to fully focus on your studies. This increases your chances of success! Don't worry. You don't have to pay the money back later because it's not a loan. You can keep the amount and spend it freely, for example on your rent.
When will I receive a study allowance? 🙋
It is useful to know that not everyone automatically receives a study allowance. Do you want to know when you are entitled to it? These are the conditions:
- You live in Alphen aan den Rijn, Kaag en Braassem or Nieuwkoop
- You are a Dutch citizen or have a valid residence permit
- You are unable to work due to an occupational disability
- You have not received a study allowance in the past 12 months
- You receive a student grant or a basic allowance through the Education Contribution and Study Costs Allowance Act (WTOS).
